Hello and welcome to the website of the Austrian Choir Canberra.

The Austrian Choir Canberra is a mixed choir of 55 members. We sing in German and English and have a wonderful repertoire of Austrian, German, international and sacred songs. Occasionally we even sing in Latin and French.

We perform at different venues in Canberra throughout the year, culminating in our traditional Christmas concert.

The choir also likes to travel and we have performed in Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic. This helps us to be the vibrant choir we are.

We are a community choir and many of our singers do not speak German or read music. This is not a problem as we teach people the words and the tunes.

The Choir is a member of the Australian National Choir Association and is also affiliated with the German Choral Association of Australia Inc (Australischer Sängerbund).

We rehearse every Wednesday night from 7.15 to 9.00pm at the Austrian Australian Club in Mawson, Canberra. This is in Heard St, opposite Southlands Shopping Centre and there is ample parking.

Austria is well-known for its beautiful music and songs. Many of these might be familiar to you. If you like singing and are considering joining a choir, please feel free to call in and listen to our rehearsals.
